WHO CAN BE TESTED?

Everyone in the state of California is eligible to be tested.  Immigration status, insurance status, age, or underlying health issues do not affect testing eligibility.

CAN I BE TESTED IF I'M NOT SHOWING ANY SYMPTOMS?

Yes, people can be asymptomatic (no symptoms) and still be at risk of transferring the virus to others.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The test is a swab that goes up your nose.  It is performed from the comfort of your car and it takes less than one minute.

HOW FAST WILL I GET THE RESULTS?

Results are available within 48 -72 hours of testing by email or phone.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

If you have medical insurance, your insurance company will be billed by Optumserve.  Tests for uninsured individuals will be paid for by the state.

CAN I GET TESTED MORE THAN ONCE?

Yes.  If you believe you may have been exposed or show any new symptoms, do not hesitate to make another appointment to get tested.

WILL THIS TEST SHOW IF I HAVE EVER BEEN INFECTED WITH COVID-19?

No, this is not an antibody test.  It will only show if you are currently infected with covid-19.

WHY SHOULD I GET TESTED?

The road to re-opening our community requires increased testing.  The ability to monitor and protect through testing, contact tracing, isolating, and supporting those who test positive is a priority for the state in determining modification of the stay-at-home order.
