If you are looking for a league where your child can learn the fundamentals without the pressures of winning and losing, this is the league for you. With our non-competitive philosophy, children concentrate on learning and having fun. No scores or standings are kept.  This keeps the atmosphere much more relaxed and enjoyable for all.  Parks and Leisure Services prides itself on endorsing the six pillars of Character Counts (citizenship, trustworthiness, respect, fairness, caring and responsibility.

Register on the first day and receive $5 off.  Receive an additional $5 off if you sign up to be a head coach. Each additional family member receives $5 off.  If you miss the first day of registration you may still sign up as long as space permits. You may register at the Heritage Center, 256 E. Orange Ave. weekdays 8:00am-5:30pm.  DO NOT WAIT TOO LONG TO REGISTER AS ALL OF OUR LEAGUES ALWAYS FILL TO CAPACITY.

Fall Soccer

Registration begins May 11, 2012

Ages 4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 &
11-13. 

Gender specific if enough register.  $57 includes jersey, shorts & socks, 8 games, practices and certificate.

This league is divided into roster sizes and age groups that will allow for an enhanced learning environment for its participants through small-sided teams.

Registration continues Monday, May 14th at the Heritage Center during regular business hours until all divisions are full.

Elks National Hoop Shoot

FREE competition for boys & girls ages 8-13.  Each contestant shoots 25 free throws. Age divisions: 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13.  Winners may advance to the next level of competition.  Awards to top finishers in each age division.

Veteran's Day Run

Downtown Porterville

This event features a 10K Run as well as a 5K run, 5K walk and a Kid’s Fun Run.  The race begins at 7:00 a.m. in front of City Hall (291 N. Main Street) Downtown Porterville.

Awards will be given to 1st through 3rd place in each age category for running and walking events.  All participants will receive an official race day shirt.

The entry fee is $15 for runners and $10 for walkers pre-registered and $20 for runners and $15 for walkers day of the race.  Day of registration is from 5:45 – 6:30 a.m.  The Kid’s Fun Run for under 10 years old is FREE! 

Pitch Hit & Run Competition

Punt Pass & Kick Competition

Junior Giants

Junior Giants is a free, non-competetive baseball league for boys and girls.  This exceptionally diversified program is based on confidence, teamwork, leadership, and integrity.  Components in health & nutrition, violence prevention and education.  Ages 5-13.  Practices begin in June, with games played in July.  All games are held at the Porterville Sports Complex.

Back for its 5th year, the 'Jr Pirates' have practice twice a week in preparation for various meets around the county.  For boys and girls in 1st-8th grade.  Cost - $30 includes uniform, practices, and City Meet admission.  Space is limited.
