Burton Ball fields

4 players, minimum of 1 female

Combined team total

  • Teams will shoot from approximately 12 yards.
  • Standard archery scoring will be used with the outermost ring being 1 point to the innermost ‘x ring’ and next innermost circle being 10.  Arrows missing the target altogether or that rebound off the target without sticking do not score at all.  An arrow landing between two scoring zone lines will be given the higher score of the two zones.
  • In the event of a tie, the team with the higher number of scoring hits is the winner.  If there’s still a tie, the team with the most ‘10s’ will break the tie and so on (9s would be next if needed).
  • Minimum participation:  teams with all 4 players must have a minimum of one female.  A team must have a minimum of one participant.  The score will reflect the total points from all participants, not the average of the team.  If team members aren’t present after the five minute grace period has expired, they will not be eligible to participate.
  • The team score will be compared to all teams to determine the top 6 places for the event.
  • Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the team members of the top 3 finishers (4 medals per team)

  • Teams will determine its 4 person order prior to beginning and must keep that same order the entire game.
  • No matter if a player makes or misses a shot, the next shot from that team will be from the next player in order and so on.  Thereafter, if a player makes a shot, he/she may take one additional shot prior to the next player on the same team shooting when it’s their teams turn.
  • Shots can be attempted from anywhere on the court.
  • The shooter must stay in the spot they shot from until the opponent gets to that spot.
  • "Called" shots must be called before the shot. Examples of "Called" shots are as follows:
    • Bank - off backboard and into basket.
    • Opposite Hand - if shooter is right handed the shot is attempted with left hand and vice versa.
    • No calling ‘swish’ and no dunking

  • No shot may be attempted twice in a row from the same spot from the same team.

  • Minimum participation/Forfeit:  A team can have a minimum of 1 bowler. The score will reflect the total points from all bowlers, not the average of the team.  No one will be allowed to participate after the five minute grace period has expired.

  • The pitching distance will be 25’.
  • A match will consist of five innings.  The team with the highest total score at the end of the five innings will be declared the winner.
  • A coin flip determines which team pitches first in the opening inning.  After that, the teams alternate each inning pitching first.
  • The match will be broken down into innings.  An inning will begin with one side of players from both teams alternating pitching cornhole bags.  That completes a half inning and the scores will be tallied.  The other half of the inning will then take place with the other 2 players from each team pitching from the other board.
  • 2 members of each team will pitch from 1 cornhole board and the other 2 members of the team will pitch from the other cornhole board.  The opposing team will also have 2 members of their team at each of the 2 cornhole boards.
  • The throwing order from a team must remain the same for the duration of the match.  New players may play a new match but not substitute in during an ongoing match.
  • Scoring:  A cornhole bag in the hole, either thrown or knocked in, is worth 3 points.  A cornhole bag that is not in the hole but lands with any portion of the bag resting on the board is worth 1 point.  A cornhole bag which comes to rest not in the hole or on the board receives 0 points.

Combined team total, lowest score

  • Players can use their own soccer balls.  No soccer cleats on the course- rubber soled shoes only, tennis shoes, and turf shoes are acceptable.
  • Holes #1-7, 14 & 18 will be played.
  • Teams will determine its 4 person kicking order prior to beginning and must keep that same order the entire time.
  • Player 1 will kick towards the first hole.  Player 2 will then kick from the spot where the ball rests.  If Player 3 makes it in the hole, Player 4 will be the first kicker on next hole.
  • Your foot should be set separate from the ball, clearly behind, before each kick.
  • If a ball comes to rest in a place that the next kicker can’t play from then the course marshal will need to be notified to make a ruling.  If the ball lies on the golf putting green the ball must be removed and dropped on the ground within ten feet of the green and no closer to the hole.
  • Balls must be played out of sand traps.  Please rake the trap after kicking.
  • The team furthest from the hole is the next to kick.  A ball may be marked and then returned to its position at the request of the other team if it is in the way.
  • The ball must be holed out prior to a team going to the next hole.
  • The team with the better score is the first to tee off on the next hole.  Tee offs must be made between and up to 6 feet behind the tee markers.
  • Scoring:  Total team score will be determined by the total number of kicks a team takes to complete the designated holes.  Teams will be paired up and will keep each other’s score.  Any dispute on a hole must be settled prior to playing the next hole.
  • Tiebreaker:  In the event of a tie the scores of the tied teams on the hole #1 will be compared and the low score will win the tiebreakers.  If still tied, this process will continue with holes 2, 3…until a team’s original score was lower than the team they had tied overall with.
