A Message From Parks and Leisure Services

W elcome to the Parks and Leisure Services pages of the City of Porterville web site. We pride ourselves on programming quality and diverse leisure services, and providing public facilities for the enjoyment of all ages. 

The Porterville Parks & Leisure Services Department has responsibility for city facilities including; a golf course, a museum, 2 libraries, approximately 5 miles of trail ways, an off-highway vehicle recreation park, and approximately 300 acres of park and sport field lands. The department maintains the indicated facilities, provides public library and literacy services, and presents to the community a variety of recreational sports, special events, and enrichment programs.

Our Mission is to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of the community, to enhance their quality of life by providing opportunities for the public enjoyment, inspiration, education, personal development, and cultural enrichment, and to provide clean, safe, well designed parks and facilities. It is our pleasure to extend programs, places, and services to you. We look forward to your participation and involvement.
